We stayed a night here during heavy snow after the Saint-Hubert Refuge already had visitors.

When we arrived we saw to our horror that the door had been open for who knows how long! There was almost as much snow inside as outside ;) We cleaned up as best as we could but for all the snow to be gone it will have to become warmer again. The problem is a broken lock on the door, we made a temporary fix with the materials that we had.

To our surprise the stove worked excellent! The broken rings on top have been wrapped in aluminium foil and almost no smoke leaks out now. The stove burns very well if you allow it to draft from underneath.

Sadly, the cabin is quite poorly isulated. There are two broken windows and the door lets through a lot of air as well. Together with the floor, which has a lot of leaks. When the fire goes out it quickly becomes colder again in the cabin. Nevertheless we had a great night here.

Thank you to all that maintain the cabin and look after it. We appreciate it!
